SGC attended YXE Connects

Yesterday, May 5th, the SGC attended YXE Connects – “a one stop shop for our community to access services and resources”. This was the first time such an event was organized for Saskatoon.

The event was held at the White Buffalo Lodge and at the City Centre Church with bouncy castles and a BBQ outside. It featured more than a dozen local organizations including, a clothing depot, professional advice on things like personal finances, haircuts and immunizations were offered, and the Saskatoon Library was there with a variety of books.

Our table was located between the Newcomer Information Centre and the International Women of Saskatoon.

This was a chance for SGC to promote our Immigrant Settlement Advisor’s work and the free services that are available. It also gave us the opportunity to let the community know of our many member groups.

We’re looking forward to attend next year again!20150504_094922
